The media and the politics of the last 10 years has been a cycle of:
A shocking event happens (murder, rape etc.) -> the media covers it for a short while -> politicians act concerned and verbally condemn the perpetrators -> no actual consequences happen -> people forget -> repeat with increasingly worse and numerous shocking events.
Why do people let themselves be desensitized to increasing chaos?
Because we’re being fogged every single time. We’re being fogged by empty words. By feigned concern.
Why is this successful?
Because most people are numb. Disconnected from their bodies. They can’t feel the difference between authenticity and fakeness. And they can’t be blamed either because all of Western society deprioritizes—and even dismisses—sensation.
When people can’t feel the difference between truth and untruth in their bodies, they’re easily fogged and distracted. Their minds are being kept busy with problem-solving and talk instead of real, tangible action in the real, tangible world.
And suddenly you have a society where murder and pedophilia is normal.
