Once we become receptive to life, life becomes reception.
Compared to most people on the planet, now and in the past, I live a privileged life. If you’re reading this, you probably do, too.
I get on my knees and thank the universe for giving me this life, these hardships, these lessons I’ve gone through.
I’ve received and am receiving so much. I’m more open than ever before, and still so closed.
There’s so much room for m o r e.
I’ve always felt all the beauty around me. My body fills with joy when the sun warms my skin and birds flutter in the trees.
When I gaze upon the stars who remind me I’m part of a whole universe.
A. Whole. Universe.
Let that sink in.
Most people aren’t in constant reverence about how incredible our existence here is.
But I wish for you to feel so much happiness that your heart bursts, just by the sight of a trodden path in the forest, or the dancing water in your bathtub.
All pleasure is available to you.
As a teen, I was a hobby astronomer. I watched documentary after documentary. I wanted to know everything about every structure in the universe. Quasars, black holes, quantum leaps, all of it.
I studied Chemistry for a while as another way to feel connected to this mindboggling mystery. A mystery which other people didn't seem to revere as much as I did. No one I knew felt the same kind of wonder.
I read books like "Our Mathematical Universe" by Max Tegmark (I highly recommend it) and deeply understood how we're part of something all-encompassing. Something beyond our daily worries and struggles.
Our bodies are here for a short while. Every body will die. But most people today aren't even fully alive. They exist, try not to suffer too much, and don't reach beyond the identity their ego has created for them.
“We do not "come into" this world; we come out of it, as leaves from a tree." - Alan Watts
Personally, I want more.
I know there is more because dozens of spiritual teachers are living in alignment with the energy that lives through them.
An energy that lives through all of us.
And I can't believe what I've created so far. I took every risk, followed every whisper, and faced more fears than ever before.
No one can take that from me.
And it's absolutely possible for you, too.
