My Joints Breathed (and Whispered I’ll Die One Day)

My body stretched and shifted

Hips opening

Muscles sliding and flexing

My joints moved in their sockets

A gentle sensation

Softly rotating in place.

My teeth tingled in response

To the wordless communication.

"One day, you will die

We won't carry you forever

We will dissolve

Become dull

We will

Creak and hurt and age

You can't stop it

And you don't need to."

Our bodies know death

They're dying since the day they were conceived

Cells dividing in creation,

living in service,

dying in sacrifice

For you

For me

To uphold the complexity of our bodies

Until the system returns to Oneness.
